In 2017 we returned from Central America, bought an RV, and rushed across country to get to PorcFest. We thought about sight seeing but figured this was about the move, not a road trip. Our Durango didn’t sell while we were in Nicaragua, which ended up being a blessing as it is tow rated and I had installed a hitch a few years earlier. We got our stuff out from under my parents house, loaded up, and made the move!
I actually spent some time in Nicaragua calculating our route to eliminate any steep inclines. This is done with the “elevation profile” feature of Google Earth. By importing my route and viewing the profile I was able to isolate the mountain passes and reroute around them. This added only a few hours to the journey yet reduced my max incline drastically.
